A Season Worth Savoring

Dear Reader,

Hello from Sunny Los Angeles where I am visiting my son, Jake!

As summer kicks off, I'm asking a simple question:

How do I want to live this season?

Not just what I want to accomplish, but how I want to feel. Honestly, what I have been feeling is a lot of grief on many levels, which I won't get into here and now. But as a new season begins to bloom, I am ready to reclaim my energy and shift my focus with intention. Though the energies on the planet are not slowing, I can live with greater attention and awareness when choosing how I spend my precious time in the sunshine.

With more light and warmer days, summer invites us into a different rhythm—we can linger longer, savor what is here, play more often, and remember that life isn't meant to be dreaded or rushed through. It's a season for noticing, for reconnecting with what matters most, and for creating space for the parts of ourselves that often get suppressed in the busyness of everyday life.

Summer Slowing

That's the inspiration behind my latest article in the new issue of Aspire Magazine, Summer Slowing & The Art of Savoring. In it, I explore the practice of savoring as a pathway to greater presence, joy, and meaning—especially during times when life feels full and fast. Sometimes the smallest moments hold deep wisdom or they keys to greater life satisfaction, if we're willing to slow down to receive them.

I'm honored to be featured alongside many other inspiring women in Aspire's newest issue, The Power of Creativity & Play for Healing, featuring midlife creativity mentor, writer, and artist Dr. Minette Riordan. Aspire Magazine is celebrating its 20th year of providing empowering content to support women in living more inspired, soul-aligned lives. The subscription is completely complimentary.

You can read your free June/July issue of Aspire magazine that includes my article, Summer Slowing & The Art of Savoring, here.

As I reflect on this season, I also find myself thinking about growth—not the striving kind, but the kind that unfolds naturally when we create time and space to be and to play while we listen to ourselves and reconnect with our inner wisdom.

If you're feeling called to do that this summer, I'd love to invite you to join me for one of my upcoming retreats. Together we'll explore mindfulness, self-discovery, intuition, reflection, and intentional living in a supportive community as we navigate this rich and meaningful season of life.

I'll officially announce the retreat series June 15th, but here is a teaser of titles and dates. See if one works for you. Save the date, I'd love to be with you. There will be early registration discounts and discounts for past participants.

  • Mind-Body Grounding: July 25-26, 3pm-3pm
  • Mind-Body Intuition: Reconnecting with Self-Trust and Inner Wisdom August 22-23, 3pm-3pm
  • Mind, Body, Vision: Coming Home to Your Future: October 2-4

Message me to get on the wait list.

Whether through the pages of Aspire, within a retreat space, or your own intentional exploration, my hope for you is that you'll find moments to pause, breathe deeply, savor the beauty already present, and grow into the next season of your life with greater clarity and self-trust.

Wishing you a summer filled with presence, play, and possibility.

With love and light on your path,

Jess

Dear Reader, We win when we say yes and step into something new. When was the last time you intentionally stepped outside of your comfort zone and tried something unfamiliar, took a chance, or opened yourself to new relationships and experiences? For me, it was a couple weekends ago at the Inspired Life Event in Quincy, MA. About a year ago, I received a phone call from a stranger, Linda Joy, who has since become an inspiring friend and mentor. She told me about a “women’s weekend of love,...
